Background
To meet the long-term demand for growing electricity loads and anticipate the future large-scale grid connection of renewable energy in southern Taiwan, Taipower Company is developing a gas-fired unit renovation and reconstruction project at the Talin Power Plant (hereinafter referred to as this “the project”). The project utilizes the vacant land after the demolition of the existing #3 and #4 units and the remaining space within the plant as the primary planned land. It plans to construct two one-to-one gas fired combined cycle units with a total installed capacity of 1.1 million kilowatts.
Project Location and Scope
The project will be built within the Talin Power Plant, utilizing the vacant land after the demolition of the existing #3 and #4 units and approximately 12.2 hectares of open space to the west. Additionally, a new warehouse will be constructed in the open space east of the existing coal bunker, a new 161kV GIS switchyard will be built near the existing #6 unit, along with operational and living quarters. Furthermore, the existing outdoor parking lot will be converted into an indoor parking lot, totaling approximately 2.2 hectares. The total planned land area for this project is approximately 14.4 hectares.
